Hi all

Next Sunday the training group are going to work at Negative splits. If you want to have a go come along and join us at 9:00 at the football club. We will have markers at 2,3 and 4 miles we can add 5 if anyone wants it!!!. The objective is simple you run at your normal pace for that distance out to the marker then turn round and run straight back but try to be quicker than the out leg.

It teaches you not to set off to quick and will improve you time over the distance. Please feel free to come and join us.

From now on a new addition to the Web Site and the news letter, striders are offering all members a free text alert service.

The idea is that we will be able to share brief race reports, big family news and details of upcoming events, or reminders for social events If you would like to recieve texts than please email me or ask me when you see me for the text number and send a text with your name on it and I will add you to the list

This service will only work if people send texts with their news to be sent on to the rest of the group.

All mobile numbers will be kept private and will not be given out to anyone.

hi guys and gals!
just to let you know that i havent fallen off the face of the planet, just been very busy with work and uni stuff.
(i can almost hear the sighs of relief and joy… you’ll all be able to sleep again at night now, no doubt!)

i wanted to say sorry for not coming to the awards dinner over xmas, and for not doing ANY training since what seems like THE DAWN OF TIME!

hopefully i will be able to attend at least the occasional training session in the very near future.

Congratulations to the girls for winning the senior ladies team at the Ducks and drakes run and also to Jane for winning her age group.
Another good day for the club and it was great to see old faces and new taking part and cheering each other on; its was a pleasure to be part of Striders today, thanks everyone.
Once again it was mentioned that we were easy the loadest team and even without the unmistakeable tones of Leanne, how did we do it?.

A quick note to all the lads, i know we are in full support of our female Striders, but come on there taking the mick out of us, lets try abit harder next time.

I saw a peacock today!

I’ve put the information about the Newark 10k on the “Files and Media” section, hope I did it right!
If I didn’t, here it is in a nutshell
It starts and finishes at Newark Rugby Club at 10.30.
Prizes will not be presented until every runner has finished, as they think the slower runners should get to watch too (yay!)
Drinks are at 5K and at the end.

Woodhall 10k

We will be congregating prior to run in car park Sunday morning, look for flag.
For anyone who would like to stay after the race, we will be bringing a couple of BBQ’s , just bring your own burgers etc.The Holden and Hanks family will be there so why not bring your family along.
Hopefully the weather will be kind but we will bring a gazebo just in case.

Scredington Spectacular

I have been asked to let you know that the Scredington Spectacular (otherwise known as a fete) will be on Saturday June 16th this year. There is only one running race this year at 1.85 miles. I know many people enjoyed the race to the bar last year as well as the running. Starts at 2pm (I think).

It will be much the same as 2006 apart from there will be a jazz band playing on the field in the evening. So the day can go on a bit longer for those who don’t have to be home in time for dinner.
